Fragbite are proud to exclusively inform the world that one of the most legendary names within Counter-Strike, Ninjas In Pyjamas, are revived with a star-studded Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team.
By the end of 2007, Ninjas In Pyjamas faded away to become nothing but a glorious memory. Today, history is written when not only the return of NiP is made public, but the most bestarred CS:GO team yet is presented.
The team is very similar to the one that was rumored by the end of DreamHack, but with a twist. Besides the former SK duo of GeT_RiGhT and f0rest, and the successful Source players friberg and Fifflaren, the 1.6 superstar Richard "Xizt" Landström is joining in. This means Lanström has been released from his contract with fnatic.
Ninjas In Pyjamas
Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg
Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund
Richard "Xizt" Landström
Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson
Adam "friberg" Friberg
Emil "HeatoN" Christensen (Owner & Manager)
An official statement from fnatic regarding Xizt has not been published yet, but NiP have written a press release which you can find by scrolling down.
Pressrelease
Today, we are proud to announce that we are starting up the legendary Ninjas In Pyjamas again after almost five years of silence. Ninjas In Pyjamas is one of the most successful teams in Counter-Strike history, winning a lot of titles the first six years of this millennium. This time we will be focusing on the new title CS: Global Offensive.
Our CS:GO team will consist of GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, Xizt, Fifflaren and Friberg. GeT_RiGhT and f0rest are two of the most successful players in the history of Counter-Strike while Xizt has been representing the best CS 1.6 team this year. Fifflaren and Friberg are also very successful within the CS: Source scene.
"I am incredibly proud to revive NiP again. We used to be the best team in the world, and I believe we will be on top once again, in CS:GO! I have so much faith in these players, they're great guys both inside and outside of the game", says Emil "HeatoN" Christensen, owner and manager of NiP.
"It's an honor to be playing under such a legendary tag. These four great guys and myself in a new team that will try to regain what NiP was in the glory days. Also, being back with HeatoN as one of the owners feels even more amazing! I'm just looking forward to the tournaments ahead to show people what we are made of", Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund says.
With that being said, we're looking forward to meeting you, and hopefully beating you, in the upcoming Global Offensive tournaments!
