These solutions are for the Error code 40 (Install did not complete when it reaches a certain file)

First off, I would like to explain how the problem was found and fixed. (I would like to add I may be the only one who found this)

When you download the executable, you try to install and then it gives you an error at some point in the installation. Somtimes on 28%, somtimes on the 9%...

The error is a code "40" which means: Installation did not complete for an unknown reason.

So, the first thing you do is assume its a corrupted download and you need to re-download. So you decide to download from site "B" and you still end up with the same old error over and over no matter what you do.

You then need to try and find a diffrent location to download from. I myself have downloaded the game from, *Nexon, Cnet, filefront, Megauploads, Utorrent, and finally my favorite.... My other computer which already had the setup file on it.

All of them still gave the error code 40 during the installation. This tells me a little more about the problem and will lead me to the issue. I now know that it HAS to be from my side wether its my computer itself or my Operating system. (In this case, Windows)

Ok, so listen up. There can ONLY be a couple things that are effecting the process of the installation since the installation dose NOT do anything else but extract files to a location.

1. It could be any software that you currently have running in the background that has to do with effecting things related to this. (Very Unlikly but please make sure to turn everything off so that it dosent get in the way)

2. You have a Virus and/or spyware thats effecting windows from installing somthing... ( Very Uncommon but still possible )

3. The operating files that control installation are corrupted... (Very Unlikly but can be tested. Just install somthing else and see if it installs. If it dose, then this is not your problem.)

4. Perhaps the extracting tools that extract files from executables are corrupted?..(hmmm.. maybe but usually not ever the case)

5. hmm, if its none of those then what is it? The only other thing that installers do is... Use Memory. Thats right folks... It has to use memory to install of coarse.

~SOLUTION~ *Tested and Works 100%*

When somthing is installing, it uses up a certain amount of addresses on your ram chip. When the installation has to install a big file like Textures.rez or Snd.rez, it has to use up more memory and thus fills up more addresses. If any of the addresses on the memory chip is corrupted and the installation is trying to use it, it will have a syntax error and fail. *Thus crashing the installation*.

To see if this is your problem and to fix it, you will need to read the next steps.

Warning: These steps are ONLY for those who know what they are doing and are knowledgable about the inside of thier computer hardware. If you know nothing about computer hardware, please have somone help you who dose and/or send your computer back to the manufacturer to get the ram chips replaced.

*I nor Nexon takes any responsibility for the results of the following solutions that are suggested*

Step 1. How to see if its your memory chips causing the problem: Shut your computer down and unplug it. Take the side off and locate your ram chips.

Step2. Take all but 1 ram chip out of your computer and plug the computer back in. Turn it on and go into BIOS by either pressing F2 or DEL constantly during the beginning of boot phase.

Step3. Find the option that says somthing similar to , "Quick Boot up" and make sure it is "Off". If you dont, then your computer will not do a memory scan when booting up before loading windows. (Most of the time this option is already off and you will not need to even go into bios)

Step4. Save and exit out of Bios or reboot by ctrl/alt/del if you didnt need to go into bios.

Step5. When the computer boots, it will begin to scan all of your current memory that it can. Since you only have 1 chip inside the computer at the moment, you sould know exactly how much ram should appear when the scan gets done. (Assuming you know this stuff)

6. IF AT ANY TIME THE SCANNER STOPS EARLY AND DOSE 3 BEEPS, then you will know that this is the bad memory chip. This means that the computer could only detect a % of the addresses on your ram chip. This is the chip thats causing all the problems with your computer. (Please note that 1 beep is is Normal and you should not worry about it)

7. If the scan completes 100% and all numbers in the scan match up to the amount on the chip and theres no 3 beeps, turn the computer off, unplug it, and replace the current chip with another until you find the bad chip.

8. If you get through all your ram chips and none of them are bad AT ALL, then I cannot tell you what the problem is. You are still on your own to solve the mystery of Code 40.

But I can almost garentee that anyone having this problem over and over with every installation they get, this is the reason.

You may be asking yourself, how come your computer is using a corrupted ram chip. The answer is because this type of problem is considered a *Ninja Ram*. The Ninja ram is broken and not broken at the same time. Your computer can still scan a certain amount of the chip and thus will continue to use it but at the same time the ram chip will corrupt files you try to mess with because the addresses on the ram chip are corrupted. This will result in random crashes of programs that try to use the bad sectors of the ram chip.

I have tested this 4 times and every test has come back 100%. I hope this helps and if you have anything to ask or add, please do so.
