probaj reinstall msn mada sigurno ima jos rjesenja 
Restartuj računar. 
evo nesto korisno sto sam nasao na google :
a. Sign out of Messenger.
b. Click "Start," click "Run," type the following command, and then click "OK":
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\
c. A new Microsoft Windows Explorer window opens. In the window, click your Messenger ID.
This is the part thats diff:
Click on FOLDERS (menu bar), i assume that you can now see your username in the left hand pane!
Click that folder, so that the subfolders show, now one of the should be "Contacts"
DELETE IT
Worked for me, all contacts back in place!

Im'o sam isti problem , uninstal msn , restartuj racunar , ponove instaliraj ! Ja sam im'o i msn plus , al' ga nisam instalir'o i sad evo nema vise problema ! 
imao sam isti problem sa 8.5....i onda sam ga delete i instalirao 9.0..sve je bilo ok..probaj reinstall

a u vezi tog problema probaj instalirat neku raniju verziju jer je ta skroz bagava

pokrenes instalaciju od novog i samo odes na repair da ti to popravi i trebalo bi da radi
